and not only by his coming, but also by the comfort with which he was comforted among you, because he[a] reported to us your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced even more. For if indeed I grieved you by my letter, I do not regret it. Even if I did regret it (I see[b] that that letter grieved you, even though for a short time[c]), now I rejoice, not that you were grieved, but that you were grieved to repentance. For you were grieved according to the will of God, so that you suffered loss in no way through us.
